Greetings Saints!

Today marks the beginning of the high point of the Christian church year. On Good Friday, Jesus offered up his life for the sins of the world. On this solemn day, we gather in sacred worship.
King of Kings offers two Good Friday services: 1:00 pm & 7:00 pm. The 1:00 pm service involves our kids and coincides with Jesus’ time on the cross. The 7:00 pm service is our typical evening service time. At King of Kings, we follow a Tenebrae outline, which means that this very moving service ends in darkness and in silence.
Then, on Sunday morning, we reconvene to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. We have an Easter sunrise service at 7:00 am and an Easter festival service at 10:00 am.Come, and worship our risen Lord!
In between those services, from 8:00 to 9:30, we have an Easter breakfast in our Family Life Center. All are invited. Around 9:00 am there will be an Easter egg hunt for the children in attendance. (Please bring your own Easter basket.)
Wednesday, we will have a very special worship service conducted completely in German by our German instructor, Mr. Phil Warnecke. If you know anyone who speaks German, please invite them to this 7 pm service. (You may come, too!)
Looking ahead, April 12 will be our “pre-call” meeting with South Atlantic District President Chuck Westra. (More on this next week.)
April 15 will be our outdoor service and church picnic at the Woodlands Subdivision park in Longwood.
April 22 will be our Quarterly Voters meeting, which will include budget, election and possibly the calling of a new pastor and pre-k teacher.
Finally, April 29 will be our last Sunday Funday. It will be a special water day. It will also be a time to invite parents with kids who might be interested in our school.
Since we gather for worship today, there is no devotion. Just these verses:
Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.” (1 Corinthians 1:22-25)
