Greetings Saints!

A reminder for those of you with children who are leaving home to attend college, the WELS has a campus ministry program to help students remain in the word as they study their majors.    You may register your child at put them in touch with an area pastor.
Kings camp wraps up its 2018 session today with a field trip to Daytona Lagoon.  We thank the counselors Paul, Sarah, Mike, and Tara, as well as camp director Mr. Warnecke for a fun filled summer and coordinating last night’s camp showcase.  Please pray for the counselors as they move on to begin the next chapter of their lives in service to the Lord.
Join us Saturday, August 4th 8 am - 12 pm for the back-to-school workday.  There will be many tasks to address to get the campus ready for school to begin August 13th.  Your help is needed to get everything in order.
Speaking of back to school, the Oviedo Mall is hosting a back-to-school bash Saturday, August 4th 10 am – 1 pm.  Participants may be eligible to receive a free backpack, school supplies, and haircuts.  Go to for more information.  You may also join us for the special back-to-school service Sunday August 12th as we welcome the 2018-2019 students.  Children entering 3rdgrade will receive a new Bible during the service.  Lunch will be provided for school families following the service.
Crusaders for Life will meet in the conference room Monday August 6th at 7:00 pm to discuss an event that will take place in October.  Feel free to attend the meeting if you would like to discuss any life issues or help plan fourth quarter activities.
It has been confirmed Pastor Gumm’s installation will take place at King of Kings Sunday, September 9th at 4:00 pm.  Volunteers are needed to help plan and prepare for the event.  Potential volunteers may attend the fellowship committee meeting in the conference room August 13th at 7:00 pm to learn how you can help.

Also, in preparation for the family’s arrival, you may donate items for a pantry shower by placing them in the marked location in the narthex. Items may be donated throughout August.
I wish to thank President Kevin Zastrow and all the families who have contributed financially and with your time and talents as parsonage repairs and upgrades have commenced. Awnings have also installed on the Family Life Center. There is still much work to do so please consider how you may help, even if only for an hour or two. The final estimate for the family’s move is right about $10,000. We also need to add a security gate for the school to remain accredited.  This will cost around $4,000 to install the necessary technology to secure the campus. Please continue to pray for God’s will to be done as we work together to cover the cost of these various non-budgeted expenses.

Now, here’s today’s devotion:
God is the Lord, the Faithful One
“I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will do it!”
Ezekiel 17:24c
This is the end of a challenging chapter of the Bible. God is speaking in picture language. Even though God explains some of it, it’s still somewhat difficult to understand.
Kind of like life, right? So often things which we think ought to happen, don’t; and things we think should not happen, do. Hard to understand!
Perhaps that is why God ends this segment as he does, with clarity and grace. Ultimately, the ruling of the earth and his own people is HIS job. He has made promises; he will do what he has promised to do.
So, we can rest on this truth: God is the Lord, the Faithful One. He has promised to rule all things for the good of his people. He spoke it; he will do it.
And he will do it whether we understand … or not. Thank God!

Faithful Lord, remind me of the wonderful promises you have made, then remind me that you will keep every one of those promises. In your name I pray. Amen.
