John the Baptizer was an amazing prophet. Prophets had foretold his coming centuries before he was born. His reason for existence was to prepare the way for the coming Savior. Yet in Matthew 11, we find John languishing in the darkness of a dungeon. He had been arrested for calling the local ruler to repent and a death sentence could be handed out at any time. He and his followers struggled with doubt, but Jesus gave him hope and certainty--not the promise of a prison break and fiery judgment on the wicked, but promises fulfilled and eternal salvation guaranteed.

Military Care Package Items – Our school is gathering perishable and non-perishable items for care packages to send to some of our military personnel deployed overseas. If you would like to donate items towards these care packages, check out this list and drop off the items either in the box in the church entryway or under the Christmas tree in the lunch room by no later than this Sunday, December 22.
Opportunities to Serve – Each week we have opportunities to serve those who attend our worship services. Two ways that we do that is through greeting and providing refreshments. We are putting together our weekly rotations for January-June. They will be available on Sunday, December 29. Sign up in the entryway to help!
Divine Call Update – David Schulz continues to deliberate our Call to serve as our next Principal and Grades 6-8 teacher. Please keep the Schulz family in your prayers as Mr. Schulz considers where best to serve our Lord in His Kingdom.
Welcome Home Pictures – If you had your picture taken at our King of Kings Photo Booth on Oct. 20 or 27, you should have received them by e-mail. Be sure to download them to your computer rather than your phone. In January, we will have an opportunity for retakes and anyone who did not get their picture taken on our Welcome Home Sundays.
Growing in Hope – Does the Bible really apply to my life? Where can I learn more about Jesus? How can I become part of the King of Kings family? How can I grow in my understanding of God’s Word? Pastor offers Bible Information Class to answer these questions and more! If you interested in joining our next session, reply to this e-mail or contact Pastor!
Every Member Visits - Pastor Gumm continues to visit all of our members! If you have not scheduled a visit, please be sure to reply to this e-mail to schedule your visit ASAP!
An Encouraging Word: All this happened to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “Look, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son. And they will name him Immanuel,” which means, “God with us.” When Joseph woke up from his sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him. He took Mary home as his wife, but he was not intimate with her until she gave birth to her firstborn son. And he named him Jesus. (Matthew 1:22-25)
