An Update on Our Plans for March 22 and Beyond
Dear Family in Christ,
I pray this finds you safe and well in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Since the big COVID-19 announcement on Wednesday, we have been working to make preparations and for our livestream worship service on Sunday, March 22. We are also working on providing a number of other opportunities for you to connect with Christ, his Word, and his people, even while we all practice safe "social distancing." So here are our latest updates! 1. Our March 22 worship service will go live @ 10 am @ Facebook.com/VisitKoK.
Click on this link for a digital version of the worship folder
If you are already on Facebook, simply head over to the page @ 10 am and press the Play button to jump on the live feed.
If you are not on Facebook, you can still watch the live worship service. Just follow the steps below. Graphics are provided to help you know what to expect:
a. Click on this link: Facebook.com/VisitKoK
. You can ignore the request to log in at the bottom of the page.
b. Once the page comes up, scroll down to the post that indicates the live feed on Facebook Live.
c. While you are scrolling down, another prompt to log in or sign up for Facebook may pop up. Press "Not Now" at the bottom of that prompt and continue scrolling until you have reached the live feed post.
d. Watch the service. If you missed any portion of it, you should have the ability to rewind to the beginning. If you happen to miss the live video, we will also have the video available on the King of Kings Facebook page at the address above and you'll be able to watch it that way. Whether you have Facebook or not,
we encourage you to not just watch the service, but participate with the service. Make use of the worship folder
on whichever device you'll be using. We will have Bible lessons, some prayers, spoken responses, and hymn verses. So actually speak and sing along as we gather around the Word together.
If you are not able to watch the live-streamed or recorded service, audio sermons will continue to be posted on our podcast site – VisitKoK.com/Sermons
or your favorite podcast platform. We are also looking to create a YouTube site with videos of services, sermons, and devotions. 2. Continue to support the Lord's work at King of Kings with your offerings either online or by mail.
We encourage you to continue to support the Lord’s work by using our online giving site – VisitKoK.com/Donate
. You can also mail your offerings to the church at the following address:
King of Kings Lutheran Church
1101 N. Wymore Rd.
Maitland, FL 32751 3. Personal/Couple/Family devotional resources coming out soon!
Personal devotion resources will be made available digitally by Monday evening. These will include orders of daily devotions including Bible lessons for individuals, couples, and families to make use of during this time of waiting. I will also provide devotional videos and announcements during the week.
Copies of the hymnal, which are actually designed to be devotional tools, are also available for you to loan from the church office. Just reply to this email or contact Pastor! 4. Online Bible Study opportunities coming soon!
Presently we are looking at the possibility of offering 3-4 different online Bible study opportunities during the week. You will receive more information about this, but presently, we are looking at the following options: “Idols We Never Knew We Had” by Phil Warnecke; Growing in Hope: A Bible Information Class and “Fear and What God Has to Say About It” by Pastor; and a Bible study discussion working through a book or portion of the Bible by TBD.
Please reply to this email or contact Pastor by email, call, or text if you would be interested in participating and what platform works best for you! 5. Looking for volunteers!
Every member--young, old, male, female, tech-savvy, untechy, physically fit, not-so-much--is a vitally important soul that Christ has made part of our King of Kings family and part of his Holy Christian Church. We want to stay connected with you during this time of isolation and uncertainty! So we are looking for volunteers who will help us check in on our members, primarily by phone. Our volunteers will have some other tasks as well--reading a devotion for the week over the phone, passing along needs you or loved ones might have, etc. If you are interested in helping us with this, please reply to this email or contact Pastor by text or email ASAP! Dear loved ones in Christ,
we are stepping forward into a great unknown. We do not know where this path will take us. We do not know what challenges or obstacles await us on the path ahead. We do not know what sorrows or griefs or fears we will experience. We do not know what the future holds, but we know who holds our future. We know who guides His flock even through the valley of the shadow of death to bring us through this vale of tears to the green pastures and clear waters of heaven. We know who holds us in his nail-scarred hand. We know who watches over your coming and going and mine both now and forevermore. We know that Jesus is our Good Shepherd. We know that Jesus is our Savior. We know that Jesus is our past, our present, and our future. We know that Jesus is holding our hand and walking beside us. God in his Word guarantees this. So we step forward into this great unknown, trusting in the One who holds our hand in his as the hymnwriter once wrote, Lord, take my hand and lead me upon life's way;
Direct, protect, and feed me from day to day.
Without your grace and favor I go astray;
So take my hand, O Savior, and lead the way.
Lord, when the shadows lengthen and night has come,
I know that you will strengthen my steps toward home,
And nothing can impede me,O blessed Friend!
So take my hand and lead me unto the end.
God grant you his peace, dear Friends.
