An Update from King of Kings

Dear Families of Our School and Preschool,

We hope this finds you and your loved ones healthy and well. Yesterday shortly after school was let out, the Florida Department of Education ordered all public schools closed until March 30. Our national church body has advised that our schools close if the local school districts close due to COVID-19 concerns. With this in mind and out of concern for the health and wellbeing of our students, staff, and their families, King of Kings Lutheran School and Preschool will be closed until Monday, March 30. If that closure is extended for some reason, we will be sure to communicate that to you ASAP.

While we understand that everyone is on spring break this coming week, for the week of March 23-27, you can expect to hear from your students' teachers (i.e. our K-8 teachers) who will be providing guidance for online or digital instruction during that week. Miss Loescher will also be contacting the families of her students in English and Gr. 5-6 Catechism. I will be contacting the families of Grades 7-8 for Catechism instruction. Mrs. Gumm will be contacting the Preschool families.

If your K-8 child was not in attendance on Friday, March 13, please contact the church office to pick up your child's textbooks. Please call ahead to make sure that someone is in the office. All other K-8 students should have taken their textbooks home that day.

If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the church office - 407-628-5696/secretary@visitkok.com; your child(ren)'s teacher; Mr. C; or me.

We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause for many of you. We pray that the Lord will continue to keep you and your loved ones in his care. Above all, we trust in his promises--never to leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6); that he watches over our coming and going both now and forevermore (Psalm 121:8); that he knows he plans for us and holds us in his nail-scarred hands (Jeremiah 29:11); and that nothing--not even a pandemic--can separate us from his love in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:35-39). In this time of fear and panic and uncertainty, we fix our eyes on Jesus, our Rock and our Refuge. God bless and be with you, dear Friends!

In Christ,
Pr. Jeremiah Gumm
