Grades 3-5 Homework Assignments, November 13th

Math = Everyone had an assignment today. Many were able to finish during study hall this afternoon. If they used their time wisely, they should be almost finished with math.

Reading = Today's focus was spelling. Each student received their spelling list. They need their spelling list to complete their practice packet and they were assigned a spelling story for Friday. What is a spelling story? Students use 10 spelling words from their list of their choice to create an entertaining story to be read aloud this Friday. Please highlight or underline each spelling word used. Does my child just insert a spelling word in the story? NO! They need to use the spelling word properly within the context of the sentence. What if they don't know the meaning of the word? A hard copy or online dictionary is a great resource! We practice dictionary skills each week in my class.

Social Studies = Each student received a written States & Capitals Pre-test today. Results will be given back this week. Heads up= Each student will be receiving a project that will be assigned on Thursday, November 15th and it will be due at the end of the month on November 30, 2018. Again, details and rubrics will be given out on Thursday at our next Social Studies class.

Word of God = All students reviewed the story of the Jairus' daughter. A worksheet was assigned. Many were able to finish in class or during the study hall.
