New Testament Greek Devotions = No assignment ; The students were given an extra credit assignment that can be handed in tomorrow for a supplemental grade to their overall Word of God grade. We learned two new terms this morning from Acts 1:7. We learned that chronos means "time" and kairos means "seasons". Both time and seasons are all in the hands of God.
Math = Check their assignment sheets. Due: Friday, August 31, 2018
Reading = We did not go through the next chapter of the novel today. We had an introduction to Shurley English and all students were assigned an exercise to work on. Due: Friday, August 31, 2018
Social Studies = No assignment--we completed all activities in class. We investigated the Bill of Rights. Tomorrow we are going to act as lawyers, judge, and jury while looking at landmark Bill of Rights cases.
Latin = We continued a Latin video series about two princesses that were separated at birth. Students need to take the terms from the word bank and match them up in the story. Due: Friday, August 31, 2018.
This Friday marks the end of our first month of school. On the last school day of each month (Spirit Day), the following dress policy has been adopted for students at King of Kings Lutheran School.
Here are several helpful guidelines when deciding what to wear to school:
Shorts/skirt length should be at or below the halfway point of child’s thigh; or when standing, if fingertips go beyond the short/skirt lie, then they might be too short.
Midriffs should not be visible. You can test this by holding both hands up over your head. If your belly shows, the top is too short.
Our young ladies need to be sure that their chests are covered. If a person can stand directly in front of a young lady, and see cleavage, they are not properly covered.
Please be mindful of wording on graphic tees/shirts. It should be God pleasing. As the question, “Would Jesus wear it?”
Muscle shirts/tank tops will not be allowed. They allow too much skin to be shown.
For safety reasons, no flip-flops.
No tops with spaghetti straps.
